Hair help??

I had a very bad experience about a year ago with glued in extensions. These were not great lengths and were not gone at a reputable salon. I had them in for less than 2 months n when they were taken out, my hair was twice as thin as before the application. I recentley cut my hair and wear clip-ins just to make it look thicker. The outer layer of my hair seems to be fine but the inner layers and a spot in the back are rather short and sparse. I don't have any bald spots. I saw a dermatologist the other day and was told it should take about another year for my hair to fully recover, but that it will all grow back. I was wondering if anyone has been through this or something similar and what they did. I have been taking hairtopia supplements as well as GNC vitamins and washing my hair every other day. I can't go much longer since it takes a lot to give it volume. The products I currently use are Nexus volumizing shampoo %26amp; leave-in conditioner.

I've been through the same exact thing as you, and after a year my hair was fully grown. I feel bad for you :( Just wait maybe 5 months to a year.

Ok...well...if the hair hasn't grown in after a year, it most likely won't. Damage to the root of the hair will be permanent. I'm surprised glue in extensions lasted 2 months, they're only meant to last a few weeks at BEST. Vitamins aren't going to help much, because nothing will make your hair grow but time. Pre-natal vitamins are good for making hair grow in healthier, though. A leave in conditioner is going to weigh down your hair. You might want to switch to Sebastian Body Double shampoo and conditioner. I use it because my hair started falling out several years ago (stress with my parents horrible divorce, nursing school, bad relationships, having to drop out of school, etc) and hasn't grown back in. It helps more than anything else I've used though.
