How often should I trim my hair. I got a really short buzzcut, #1 all over a few days ago and it already seems out of place, how often should i clip it to keep it looking fresh?

Any hairstylists out here?

I couldn't afford to have short hair! I had to go every month and a half. I had a 1" to 1 1/2" hair style...I loved it. The guy who cut it gave me freebies because I reccomended so many people to him. Now my hair is long and I only cut it about 4 times a year.

Use some fun product and swish it off in different directions to funk it up between cuts. Have fun with it!

it all depends on how fast your hair grows. i would say 2-3 week and make sure they go over it a few times clippers miss hair. if the stylist doesn't ask them to, remember its your haircut and you have to wear it.

oK so i have almond eyes matching to my dark brown hair with bangs which is naturaly straight . My hair lenght is about below my shoulders . What i usually go to skool is this hairstyle : bangs down and and a ponytail with a matching ribbon and outfit or clips. Sometimes i use my hair with a bun and bangs down again. What can i do to improve my hairstyle and makeup. The makeup i usually use is a bit of brown mascara , eyeliner, and lipgloss. My face is like this, almond brown eyes {sometimes look green}, a bit of cheekbones, regular nose, long lashes, and ciara lips.

It took me years to figure it out, but I have finally found a way to make my naturally curly hair look great!!

Here are the steps to take to get nonfrizzy curly hair:

1. ALWAYS use a conditioner...any of the Pantene conditioners work well.

2. After combing out your hair with a wide-toothed comb use hair gel (LA Looks #8 in the green bottle). After applying the gel, comb it out again. Then, dry your hair a little by scrunching it in a towel.

3. Use a difusser and blow dry your hair completely. I just turn my head downwards and let all of my hair rest in the top of the diffuser. By doing this, it gets scrunched by itself and I don't have to keep scrunching it with my hands.

4. After your hair has dried, use the wide-toothed comb to kind of fluff your hair (don't comb through it after it has dried because it will become mega frizzed!)

5. Apply another coat of LA Looks gel (THIS IS ESSENTIAL) without the extra coat of gel your hair will become frizzy :-%26gt;

These are the steps that I take...believe it or not I usually wash my hair at night and as long as I follow these steps and remember to put that extra layer of gel on my hair after it dries, my hair fixes very easily in the morning. I don't have white flakes and my hair doesn't get hard unless I don't wash it for a couple of days in a row. I also don't have the "wet look"

When I want a change I wear a thin headband on my head. You can find all sorts of colors at Claires for about $3.

Make sure that you don't slick your hair down with the headband. The sides of your bangs should be left down in tendrils.

Oh, how I feel your pain. What I've recently found to work best for me is to use an anti-frizz product, rather than a gel or mousse in order to avoid that "caught in the rain" look. I then use a flat iron to straighten my side bangs. Sometimes I close the straightener on sections of hair, not running it over the curls, just closing it, keeping it inplace for 2 seconds, and releasing. This gives more of a beachy-wave type look.

To know if your extensions are human hair or manufactured, look on the package or ask whoever put them in. If you can't actually FEEL a difference between your hair and the extension, chances are it's human, but there's only one way to tell for sure. Snip one of the hairs from the extensions and snip one of your own hairs and burn them. If the extension burns very differently, then it's a man-made fibre and undyeable.

However, if it's made of human hair, you can have them taken out and bleached, then dyed back to a tone of your choosing. I would first go for a shade a few levels lighter than black (which is what we call "level 1" in the business). Try a level 4G - any hairstylist will recognise that term. Contrary to popular belief, you can NOT use a hair colour to lift the level of your hair colour! You MUST bleach, then go over with a tint. For this reason, you may just want to buy new extensions and have them put in because extensions are a PAIN to bleach and dye and they get dry and split easily.

This sounds like a really cool project to have some beauty school students help you with. A beauty school is usually cheaper than a salon, and you're giving students a chance to get some experience. Have FUN with your hair. However, remember that super-black hair can look really dry and dull very easily, so condition it well or go for a slightly lighter tint that still looks really dark, but more natural and shiny. Why not buy differant colour extensions and add them into your other extensions? then there's no need to dye them.

Unless the extensions are 100% real hair you would have trouble dyeing them sucsessfully!

You shouldnt really die your hair extentions cos it will ruin them!

Just buy a couple of clip-in hi-light extentions which are basically small strips of hair the same length as your extentions and they are cheaper then having to buy whole new extentions. =]

Its just like having hi-lights!

I'm really big on hair care, but I love exercise and a habit of mine has been to spend 10 to 20 minutes in the Sauna after a workout.

I was wondering if there's a way to keep my hair dry.

maybe get some braids. Or try wrapping your hair. So when you leave, your hair can just airdry and you can take it down. Working out and our hair is difficult. My best remedy is braids. oh, I just thought of this,you could put your hair in a bun. So the edges are straight, and the back in wrapped up.

take 2 clips or bobby pins and all of ur bangs and comb them back, and clip them in the middle of ur head *make sure u part ur hair in the middle or it will look stupid, and leave the rest down.

when u get out of the shower, wait like 20 minutes so ur hair isn't soaked but just damp, then take some gel or mousse and scrunch ur hair (grab the ends and push them up towards the top) u will get a cute and curly effect. *wait until the gel completely dries and top it off w/ hairspray. u can also do this hairstyle w/ a pony too, just scrunch the pony tail :) i hope i helped!! xo

I haven't tried the clip on ones. however, i have permanent hair extensions made of real hair. they are really cool and you can do whatever you want with them. they can be washed,styled,etc., just like your natural hair

i don't know if you're willing to cough up the money or not.

if you want it that bright pink and white, you're going to need to bleach all of your hair, and then dye over it with black, white, and pink.

and the upkeep will be ridiculous. you'll probably end up redying the pink about once every two weeks or so if you want it to stay nice.

and lots and lots and lotsss of conditioner.

if you're willing to put up with these things, go for it. haha.

It's called photoshop.

It'll be hard to duplicate her hair because as I said, most of her hair has been digitally edited to no end.

Try 100% extensions though, that's always the best choice. You can get them at a beauty store, say Sally's. The fading is a combination of dying the bottom strands and photoshop, by the way, so if you do it yourself, it might look crappy.

I think that you first should get the extensions, use some Ion dye--my personal favorite brand--and get the base color you want. Then find an "edgier" salon where you live, maybe a Toni %26amp; Guy if you're not offended by the prices-- or just try asking the local "scene" kids around, because I've found that they have the most experience with hair and where to get it done.

Uh, chase your dreams kid. But don't be sad when it doesn't come out exactly as you planned, because A.K. looks totally different in person. In fact, her hair looks terrible in person. But anyway, have fun with your new pink hair.

1. If you put them enough then yes. It puts extra weight and stress on your hair and can break or pull it out.

2. When I do my extensions I put 18 inches in and I get it at Sallys. It's a glue in extension and costs $30

Yes, if you get more natural hair than synthetic, you can use low heat to it without it BURNINGGG. I'm not familiar with the prices, it IS expensive, I do know that much. And it's not too damaging if you get them sewn in. And, actually, I think personally the sewing method is more natural looking. I hate tracks!

Ummm this depends on a lot of things, are you African American, white, Latina? Well if your white the bet thing i can tell you id to make sure you buy a pony that matches the texture of your hair. If your Latina, make sure you moose your hair with a moose that hardens so you can stay care free for that day. If your African American make sure you buy a perm to straighten you hair so it can blend easier, also is its some wild color weave don't worry about it cause nobody will think that it's real anyway. lol good luck .

Hair help As soon as possible please?

I'm going on a cruise in 2 weeks. I had to get my hair cut short back in January due to a bad straightener in October that left my hair thin, super soft, hard to manage, hard to hold a style, fly away because of the softness, and broken. It's not dry and can't handle a lot of conditioner. Hairspray holds maybe 30 minutes and I'm frightened of wind. I feel like a space alien. What hairspray or mousses would keep my hair holding a shape better without being sticky and breaking my hair? Should I use clip-ins? Why is my hair so soft?? I can't pull it back as it's only chin length and the sides are so thin and shorter than the back. I have to fluff with dryer and comb or brush each day to get any style. I can get it looking okay, but the wind does it in. It's short with bangs on top and sides and a little longer in the back - layered up all over. It's fine and thin and SOFT. I tried mousse this morning but it weighed it down and actually made it harder to do.

Try styling it with Got to be glued. First, dampen your hair and then put it away. I would recommend to use barrettes. Hope this helps!

Try a product called Root Boost by TIGI it is about $20 a bottle and you spray it on your roots when it is wet and then brush it to the ends then style. It will help give your hair body and will make it appear to be thicker.

Maybe try switching shampoos. You need to use something for fine thin hair. I use Pureology Volume, but Boilage has a really gentle poo/condish set for volume (fine thin hair). As far as holding your style without being brittle...maybe try something like Redken Rewind or Redken Guts, which is a mousse but it is for volume (fine/thin hair).

You'll need to change the way you think of your hair. Reduce the amount of heating appliance (blow dryer, flat iron) or reduce the heat of the appliance.

Also, for your cruise, try the natural look. Get waves using something like Redken Touch control and then use a wide fabric headband that ties in the back to keep the wind from blowing it in your face all the time. Throw on a big pair of Nicole Ritchie-esque sunglasses and you'll be adorable!

9 month old long hair in front....?

my baby has long hair in the front of her head that comes down into her eyes, i tried putting in things to hold her hair, all different kinds of clips.. the rubber bands are too big. but recently she started pulling them off and trying to eat them. so that's no longer an option for me. i don't want to cut her hair, any ideas on how i can either comb it back and make it stay put? i don't want to put any hair spray or chemicals in her hair...thanks

What I did when my daughter caught on to pulling out her hair clips, was use those really tiny hair elastics (scuncci makes the ones I get)- they are almost like the rubber bands I used to wear in my braces- a tiny "pony tail" off to the side works great! Eventually it will "train" itself to stay off to the side.

if you put any chemicals, spray gel or flat iron spray in a skinny purple bottle is best....i do it to my daughters hair with the flat iron spray, you dont have to excatally use a flat iron to use the spray and it keeps the hair silky....

Try using some aloe vera gel as hair gel. Chemical free, but still sticky enough to hold it in place somewhat.

Hair Bows??

I have a few cute little hair bows that are on clips, but whenever I wear them, they look kind of dumb. I think I just place it in my hair in the wrong spot or something.

Clip the center of your hair (like pinning your bangs back) back from your face with bobby pins then add the bow in front of the pins to kind of hide them. Makes a clean neat cute little hairdo.

I straighten my hair at night because I don't have time in the morning, but when I wake up in the morning it has dents in it. and no I don't tie it up with a scrunichie or a clip, I usually twist it and wrap it with a silkish fabric.....but it's still dented when I wake up. I don't want to re-straighten in the morning because I don't have time and I don't want to damage it too much....what to do????

I used to put my hair up at night and wake up in the morning with a huge ponytail line..not attractive..lol

I got a new ceramic, hair straightener, and didnt do anything to my hair, just straighten it, leave it down and went to bed..and presto! no bumps at all in the morning!! There were a few when the weather was really warm, then i just quickly went over them with the straightener....but for the most part...no creases!

so try not wrapping it up at all, you get hot at night and the material is trapping the heat which makes your hair crease and frizz.

Do NOT wrap it in fabric or anything....doing so will cause creases, even the lightest fabrics and ties can. Just wear it down to bed.....just know that sleeping with it down could POSSIBLY cause it to kink slightly, but not very much......As soon as you wake up, turn on your straightener. Do everything else (morning routine - eating breakfast, dressing, makeup, etc.) while your straightener is heating....put a little bit of serum or hot iron serum in your hair and straighten out the kinks just before you leave. It won't take very long.....this always works for me, and if my hair kinks again, i put it up later on. Best of luck, and happy styling!

i actually use a scrunchie lol...as lame as that sounds, and the one i use it silkish and loose...i usually wake up with it laying in my bed, but, when i put it in my hair, i never seem to get dents or creases in my hair...

ur lucky u have curly hair. i have wavy/straight hair and i cant just leave it down, i have to do something to it (curl or straighten). theres tons of styles for curly hair! u can mousse ur hair using the Aussie brand which works very well. i think moussing ur hair is in and would be PERFECT if u have curly hair. you can clip ur hair from the middle and straighten the bangs which is very professional looking. u can do messy updos which r very stylish. headbands are trendy accessories right now. just dont put ur bangs in the headband. miley cyrus had naturally curly hair in her early episodes of hannah montana. sarah jessica parker is proud of her curly locks and has great simple hairstyles.

Why don't wedding sites or magazines have more pictures of brides with short hair?

I am having mine cropped short, like Kylie Minogue has hers as my b/f (bravely) confessed that he thinks my long hair ages me and I have decided to cut it really short again (he met me when I had hair like a pixie) but I cannot find any inspiration for head-dresses or suggestions for really short hair, why do they presume that all brides have long hair??? So annoying!!! Would you go for a small tiara or a feather fascinator? (kind of like a plume thing on a clip or comb)
