Anyone think my school is a little strict?

We have uniforms and we can't dye our hair crazy colors. We can't wear jewelry or any accessories unless its elastics to pull our hair back. So, no jewelry at all. No hair clips. Hair must be up, can't be down. Can only be in a bun or ponytail. And we can wear glasses, but that is all for accessories. Is my school too strict? I am in high school, 10 grade. Just wondering. Is your school like this?

Also, it is a private school, you have to have the money to be accepted in. And we can't even BRING cellphones, mp3 players, etc.

Well, it is a private school. They want you to focus on school. Also, by making everyone virtually look the same and have the same stuff they are hoping to teach you to value people for who people are - not by how much money they have....... does it work?

As far as being too strict, maybe a little. Are you allowed to have a cell phone that you can pick up at the office on your way home in case you need to call someone?

I think it is prob lay more strict then a regular school, but if you have to pay for this , then your parents most feel it is a better learning environment than regular school. Your there to learn not play games or make phone calls.Be happy they can do this for you.

I think it's a little too strict because you can't wear jewelry, and all the accessories you listed...I go to a private school also, and I'm in 9th grade, and the whole high school is private, but we can wear jewelry and accessories. We can't dye our hair, but we can wear it any way we want, just as long as it's not like a mohawk or anything strange like that. We have to wear uniforms, but we can buy our own. It has to be black and white, not colors. So like a black or white shirts and black or white pants. We can wear skirts. We can have cellphones, mp3 players, etc. just as long as it's not a distraction.

Those kids that I know who go to "private" Schools, have parents that want their kids to be different. Seems to me that your parents have reached their objective. As you said, Your parents have the "Money". Now you realize that "MONEY" can't buy you happiness.

Sorry, but you'll just have to convince your parents that "happiness" is more important in life than "money".

Yes! It is too strict. In most schools, children are allowed to wear anything they want and i am shocked that cell phones and mp3's are not allowed.

What do you expect from private school? They're all like that. My brother went to a private high school and they had rules about how long a guys hair could be, guys always had to shave and couldn't wear jewelry, girls could only wear one set of earrings and couldn't wear too much makeup. They're all the same. If you don't like it, go to public school but you won't get as good of an education. I'm a product of public school and I hate it every day.
